App licence and access information

Our proposed release would use Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement as the app licence, including applicable in-app content and services. This licence choice has not yet been confirmed for release.
This page explains Reason Along’s features, intended use, free and subscription access, and support arrangements. It does not replace or amend that licence. Our App privacy policy explains our information-handling practices; visits to this website are covered by its own Website terms and privacy.

A parent-led learning companion
Reason Along is designed for parents and caregivers to lead short maths conversations, from the first school years through Year 6. Its lessons are being built to address the learning statements of the 2025 New Zealand Mathematics and Statistics curriculum, generally in effect from 2026; the initial lesson range is Years 0–6. It complements school; it does not replace a teacher, diagnose a learning need, assess attainment or guarantee a learning outcome.
The adult chooses a suitable lesson, checks preparation and supervises the activity and any materials. Pause, change the activity or stop when appropriate for your child.
Availability
Reason Along is in development and is not yet on the App Store. It will launch with New Zealand Years 0–6 maths lessons. No release date has been announced here.

Free and subscription access
At launch, all local child profiles will receive six fixed free starter lessons at each of Years 0–6, with unlimited revisits and complete help. The remaining catalogue and authored continuation will require a subscription.
Every profile receives the same free collection, without expiry or payment details; another profile unlocks no extra content. Profiles, History, reminders and saving a session are free. Reopening teaching depends on that exact lesson’s access.
One purchasing Apple account’s verified subscription covers unlimited local child profiles on supported devices, with no sibling fee. Caregivers may share the app/device; another Apple account has no promised sharing. Apple Family Sharing and cloud synchronisation are not included. Each device keeps its own learning records.
The planned subscription adds the remaining Years 0–6 catalogue and authored continuation sequences for all local child profiles under the purchasing Apple account, with no sibling fee or profile cap. Authored continuation sequences are optional next steps through the available catalogue, not a promised schedule of new lessons. Years 7–10 are planned as later expansion and are not currently available. No delivery date, price or future subscription entitlement is promised. Future curriculum revisions are not promised by this page.
The approved planned prices are NZ$9.99/month or NZ$79.99/year, including GST, with identical access and no auto-converting trial. No live subscription is sold through this website or the development app. The annual option charges NZ$79.99 for the year. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple before renewal.
When paid access ends
History and the saved place remain after a subscription expires. Premium teaching stops, including within a saved session; eligible neutral recording remains available. Subscription options are an explicit choice outside teaching. Deleting a profile does not cancel billing. Once subscriptions are live, manage renewal through Apple’s subscription controls. Turning off renewal does not immediately end an already valid paid period. Restore purchases checks access, not recovery of local learning records.
Your local information
Read the app privacy policy for profiles, sessions, drafts, local preferences and purchases. Keep optional notes factual and necessary. There is no learning-data account or automatic cross-device sync, and recovery of device information is not guaranteed. Do not rely on a subscription as a backup service.
